60th Annual Delta Exhibition

The Annual Delta Exhibition was founded in 1958 to feature contemporary work by artists from Arkansas and bordering states. Today, the Annual Delta Exhibition has grown to encompass works in all media and is a showcase for the dynamic vision of the artists of the Mississippi Delta region.

57th Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition

May 8, 2018 — July 22, 2018

In 1961, the Arkansas Arts Center hosted the first statewide Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition to ensure learning, inspiration, and creative expression. This annual young artists exhibition showcases artwork from students in kindergarten through 12th grade and arts organizations across the state. Hundreds of works in a variety of media are juried by a professional panel and a chief juror selects a "Best of Class" and two "Honorable Mentions" for each grade.

Robert Baines: Living Treasure and Fabulous Follies

July 20, 2018 — October 7, 2018

Living Treasure and Fabulous Follies celebrates the exquisitely crafted jewelry of Robert Baines, a master goldsmith and leading archaeometallurgist. By using ancient techniques in playful new ways, and combining precious metals with contemporary materials, Baines excavates the mythology of present-day culture and crafts objects that push the boundaries of what wearable art can be.

Throughout the year the Arkansas Arts Center displays works from its own collection. The galleries described below are filled with objects selected dating from over 600 years of Western art right up to the current day. The Arkansas Arts Center Foundation Collection specializes in drawings and contemporary craft, but there are also examples of paintings, sculpture, prints, photography, and decorative arts, among other media.

PAUL SIGNAC WATERCOLORS AND DRAWINGS:
THE JAMES T. DYKE COLLECTION

Ongoing

The scintillating watercolors and drawings of late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century French artist Paul Signac are the focus of two intimate galleries at the Arkansas Arts Center that have recently been redesigned and reinstalled. These works come from America’s finest collection of Signac’s graphic art, one hundred and thirty-three works that were assembled by Arkansan industrialist James T. Dyke. Mr. Dyke presented this magnificent collection to the Arkansas Arts Center in 1999.
