Marcus will present methods of getting your creative juices flowing and curing artist block forever! The sketchbook will be the vehicle in which to explore and express your inner voice in water media. No matter if you're traveling or at home, the methods learned in this workshop will help you develop ideas and fun ways of getting "unstuck."

PREREQUISITE: Intermediate / Advanced students with nixed media experience at AAC or elsewhere

Students bring previously started paintings or failed / unfinished paintings they have had in the closet for weeks, months, or years! Determine goals for resuscitating each piece. Instructor will review techniques from past workshops, including how to use collage, texture, pattern and repetition, language, line / drawing, image transfer, and stencils / stamps.

This class teaches a step-by-step approach that simplifies the process of painting in oil. Learn the basics of composition, perspective, volume, color-mixing, and applying and manipulating paint. Learn to render objects in a naturalistic setting.

Build on the knowledge of the basics of painting in oil through a focused study of color theory, composition, and glazing techniques. Work from objects in a naturalistic setting as you gain confidence in rendering with oil paint.
